Biography[]
Background[]
Shido was born into a wealthy family, his parents both having high income jobs. His father ran and owned a large business whilst his mother bought and sold artifacts and other objects of value. So for the younger years of his life Shido was given an extravagant life with everything a small boy would want and the best education money could buy.
That all changed when he was fifeteen years old, his mother died from a terminal illness she had been harbouring for many, many years and his father took his own life a few months later. He could not handle the grief it seemed. From that day Shido was the sole successor of the family company and wealth, it was also when his insomnia began to develop.
The next few years passed slowly, the hours he had used to spend sleeping he now spent reading from the wealth of books from the library his mother had built up over the years. Whilst the other members of his father's company decided that they would continue business until Shido was old enough to do it himself. But he was becoming more and more enstranged and reclusive with each passing day and eventually sold out his shares in the company for a large amount of credits and cut his ties with the business.
Shido was content with his reclusive lifestyle, only leaving his home to go on extravagent trips. On one of those trips, he was visiting Hoth and for the first time in four years he found some sleep whilst watching the snowfall, it was also the moment he had a dream that influenced all his future actions. It depicted him visiting a Jedi Temple and meeting with the Jedi inhabiting it. After that moment, he once again found it impossible to find sleep, not even on return journeys to Hoth. He decided he should act upon his dream and go to this Jedi Temple and learn their ways.
He was welcomed into the Jedi upon his visit to their temple and was taken under the tutelage of the Jedi Shianni Hord. It was only a short time into his training before Shido unfortunately felt he had to leave. At the time, Shido had felt that the conflict in his mind would have been a detriment to his training as a Jedi. It distracted him, possessed him and not even in the pages of the books in the archives that he so treasured could he find solace.
With a heavy heart, Shido had left the enclave hoping that someday he would be able to calm the conflict in his mind and return to focus solely on his training. He returned to his home on Coruscant and dedicated his time to studying his mother's condition, once again, burying himself in the pages of books to further understand something. Shido had tasked himself with helping those who shared that same illness that took his mother. Over those years he came to understand the illness and treat it, though there was no cure he helped to ease the pain it caused and through that, ease the conflict that consumed his mind.
